Police have identified the deceased as George Otieno Nyasoro.
Nyasoro’s body was discovered on Saturday, lying by the roadside in Nyabuombe village, about 400 metres from their home, with visible injuries to the head, hands, and legs.
According to Rachuonyo North Sub County police commander Stephen Tanui, the three brothers had rushed the deceased to Kendu Bay Adventist Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The three alleged that they had found their brother lying beside the road.
Tanui says that a team of detectives from Kendu Bay police station visited the scene where the body was allegedly found, but ruled it was unlikely to be the primary scene of the murder since there were no blood stains at the scene.
The officers proceeded to conduct a search in a house said to belonging to one of the brothers, where a slasher, two clubs and two machetes stained with blood were recovered.
The officers also reportedly discovered blood stains splashed on the walls of the said house, which police noted had been cleaned.
The detectives also found blood stained clothes said to belong to the deceased, hidden inside a nearby maize plantation.
The three brothers have been detained at the Kendu Bay police station.
The body of the deceased was moved to Kendu Bay Adventist mortuary pending a postmortem.
