Homa Bay: Bodaboda rider killed in a road accident

A bodaboda rider has died, while his pillion passenger sustained serious injuries in a road accident in Homa Bay County.
Police said the incident happened at Misambi area along the Oyugis-Katito Road in Rachuonyo East Sub County.
The accident occurred after the motorbike experienced mechanical problems, causing the rider to lose control and collide with a parked lorry.
Rachuonyo East Sub County Police Commander Laban Omol confirmed that the rider died instantly after hitting his head on the lorry.
The female pillion passenger, who was seriously injured, has been admitted to Okita Hospital in Kadongo for treatment.
Omol urged motorists and road users to ensure their vehicles and motorcycles are in good condition before use to prevent such accidents.
The body of the deceased has been taken to the Okita Hospital morgue.
