Governor Cecily Mbarire keen to have a clean County

Embu town business community and residents welcomed a move by the Governor, Cecily Mbarire to restore cleanliness and sanity in the County.
Embu County has struggled with waste management over the
years and a tour of the town revealed heaps of garbage all over CBD and in residential establishment.
While addressing County heads of department, employees and
the media during the last Friday exercise, Governor Mbarire said: "We need
to have a long lasting solution to this menace of garbage and waste management
in the county. It's our responsibility to keep our environment clean and
habitable."
Governor Mbarire led her entire County work force in
sweeping, clearing heaps of garbage and unclogging drainage systems in the town
and indeed after just a week, the town is breathing clean air.
A bodaboda operator, Ken Mbogo says: "The move by the Governor
is a good one and we like it. This town has been dirty with heaps of garbage
all over the place, we've been wondering where the taxes we pay on a daily
basis go to if the County government can't ensure we operate in a clean
environment."
The Governor promised the County residents that the exercise
will be carried out in the entire County as her government carries out
evaluation on best practices to ensure clean environment and above all, to
maintain higher standards of the same.
