Food, dance mark annual Bunyore cultural festival

Bunyore Cultural Group Chairman Dan Otieno Ndale said the theme for this year’s celebration held on Thursday was “Obuhambani Okh'khusia Oluyia”, that is, Unity for Community’s Growth.
“Anyole pride themselves in the ability to forecast weather conditions. This made the Kenya Meteorological Department visit Ebusiekwe Hills, and install scientific weather forecasting equipment to compliment the traditional weather forecasters for accurate weather updates that help the community make informed decisions on the farm,” Ndale said.
He said the Maragoli and Tiriki Cultural exhibitions have for years outshined the Bunyore ones because leaders from those communities embrace and support cultural development.
Ndale urged leaders and professionals from Bunyore to support the activities for the benefit of the coming generations.
This year’s festival was held at Ebusakami Primary Grounds with leaders drawn from Emuhaya and Luanda Constituency gracing the ceremony.
Exhibitions with traditional foods, medicine, and dances were the order of the day.
