A family has been left homeless following a fire incident in Embu County.
The devastating fire razed down a house in Kiriari area, located in Ruguru Ngandori Ward.
Residents have decried a spike in cases of fire in the area, with the latest incident being the third reported in a span of one week.
"We demand that proper investigations are carried out so as to put to an end the cases of inferno," a resident said.
Amid the chaos, a form three student from Karau Day Secondary School was the unlikely hero after saving a trapped child from the fire.
Brian Kimanthi's heroic act saw him rescue the child who had been trapped inside the house.
Meanwhile, affected families have appealed for support as they seek to rebuild following the incident.
