Embu: Traders selling counterfeit alcohol put on notice as 40 crates of illicit liquor seized

Police in Embu have warned residents to be vigilant as cases of traders selling counterfeit and illicit brew continue to rise during the festive season.
Speaking at Siakago in Mbeere North, Embu County, on Thursday, County police Commander Nicholas said police officers working on a tip-off recovered 40 crates of counterfeit beer and other drinks at a store in Kageri within Siakago Market.
He said police are pursuing the owner of the store.
Embu County Criminal investigations officer James Githinji said DCI officers have intensified their activities and are collaborating with other agencies following a change in tack by the counterfeit and illicit brew operators.
