Embu: Property of unknown value destroyed in fire incident Siakago town

Property of unknown value was destroyed following a fire incident in Embu County.

Witnesses told Citizen Digital that the incident happened in Siakago town, Mbeere North.

The incident saw business premises reduced to ashes, with traders counting losses.

Those affected added that the fire broke out at around midnight.

“I received a phone call at around midnight. I was informed that the premises are on fire,” a businessman said.

Meanwhile, locals have blamed the county‘s fire department for late response.

“The disaster management team’s response is questionable. The fire would have been contained had they arrived in good time,” a resident added.

The cause of the inferno is yet to be established.

Police officers have kicked off investigations into the incident.
