Embu: Concerns over contamination of water, destruction of infrastructure during road construction

Embu Water and Sanitation company (EWASCO) raised the alarm over raw sewer making its way to water being distributed to residents following the destruction of manholes. 

The company warned contractors to set aside budgets for repair water pipes and other infrastructure destroyed as they construct roads.

Speaking during a meeting on Friday, the company's managing director Eng James Njeru also raised concerns about loss of revenue from water loss, pending bills and costly repairs from the road constructions. 

However, local leaders also called for fast-tracking of the distribution of water to all parts of Embu.
