A five-year-old boy was burnt beyond recognition in Tegat area of Bomet County after a fire engulfed their home on Tuesday night while he was asleep alongside his two-year-old sibling.

The boy's sibling was rescued.

According to a police report, the deceased had been left sleeping with his younger brother when smoke was seen billowing through the entire house.

The two-year-old was rescued by his mother.
