Body of student who went missing found in River Mathioya, Murang'a

The body of a 19-year-old girl who went missing on 25th October has been found in River Mathioya, Murang’a county.

Jackline Wangui Gichuru, a student at Kamacharia Girls High School in Murang’a, had been picked from school by her grandmother for treatment after notifying the school of her sickness.

They arrived home that evening and the young girl retired to bed at around 8 pm. 

Her grandmother realized that her granddaughter wasn’t in her room when she went to check on her the next morning (Saturday).

She reported the incident to the police.

The body of the missing girl was retrieved from River Mathioya on Tuesday evening.

Investigations are underway to establish the cause of her demise.
