The bodies of two fishermen from Suba North constituency, Homa Bay County who drowned in Lake Victoria have been retrieved.
This follows an exercise conducted by fishermen at Nyagina beach in Suba North and officers from the Kenya Coast Guard Service.
The bodies were found floating near Chamaunga where the boat capsized after being hit by a ferry en-route to Mbita from Luanda Kotieno.
Earlier, Nyangina Beach Management Unit chairman Joseph Ouma Kaseu said the captain of the ferry allegedly failed to notice the boat since his vision was impaired by darkness.
The bodies have been taken to Homa Bay mortuary.
