Baringo: Business at a standstill as locals in Kabarnet decry poor roads

Business is at a stand still in Kabarnet town as locals blocked the highway over the poor state of the road.

Residents are demonstrating over the state of the Kabarnet-Tenges-Saos-Eldama Ravine route.

According to the locals in Saos, the dilapidated road has taken ages to be fixed by the relevant authorities.

Motorists plying the busy road were forced to seek alternative routes due to a huge traffic snarl-up.

The drivers who had planned to use the route for their daily business activities told Citizen Digital that they have no other option but to turn back.

Locals have been forced to repair their vehicles and motorcycles frequently thanks to the poor state of the road.

"We want action to be taken swiftly in order to bring an end to our suffering," they added.
