Ambulance ferrying patient involved in an accident in Uasin Gishu

Six people have been hospitalized following two separate road accidents in Uasin Gishu County.

In the first accident, three people were injured after an Eldoret-bound trailer collided head on with a tractor at Bayete area.

"The tractor was ferrying firewood and was heading in the opposite direction," witnesses told Citizen Digital.

The injured, who were on board the tractor, were rushed to Burnt Forest Hospital for treatment.

One of the injured was later referred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret.

However, an ambulance that was taking the patient to hospital was then involved in an accident on the way to Eldoret.

"The ambulance hit the back of a trailer that was heading to Eldoret. It almost collided with an oncoming vehicle," Ainabkoi police boss Allois Muthoka said.

He added that the ambulance veered off the road before rolling several times at Kerita area.

Meanwhile police are searching for the driver of the trailer which was involved in the first accident.
