57-year-old man killed after huge tree falls on him

A 57-year-old man has died after a tree he was cutting down fell on him in Kisii County.

Police said the incident happened in Bosom village in Matieko Mosocho, Kitutu Chache Constituency.

The deceased, Polycarp Motuka, had been contracted to bring down the huge tree.

His brother Nicodemus Motuka said they responded to the incident after receiving a report that a tree fell on his brother.

“He was found lying under the large tree. He died at the scene,” Motuka told Citizen Digital.

Police have launched investigations into the incident with preliminary reports indicating that he died from blunt force trauma.

The body of the deceased is lying at Kisii Referral Hospital mortuary.
