Volleyball: Pipeline hit RRA to maintain perfect start in Kigali

Kenya Pipeline women’s volleyball team on Thursday defeated Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) 3-0 sets to maintain their perfect start in the ongoing African Zone Five Volleyball Club Championship in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Oilers saw off the Rwandans in straight sets of 25-20, 25-21 and 25-13 to amass six points following another resounding 3-0 sets win against Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) of Uganda in the opening fixture on Wednesday.

The former Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) National Women's League champions next face Police Volleyball Club of Rwanda on Friday before winding up the event, that is being played on round-robin format, with a APR VC Rwanda clash on Saturday.

The men's version has attracted six clubs namely; Rwanda Energy Group Volleyball Club, Rwanda Patriotic Army, Amical Volleyball Club of Burundi, Rwanda National Police Volleyball Club, Kepler Volleyball Club (Rwanda) and Sport-S from Uganda.

Zone Five comprises 12 nations including Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Egypt, Burundi, Djibouti and Somalia.

Meanwhile, the Eldoret City Volleyball Tournament is set to be launched on Friday at the Uasin Gishu County headquarters, Eldoret ahead of its second edition set to be held between December 8 -9 at the Eldoret Sports Club.
