“I congratulate my girls for a well job done. Our aim was to win the Premier League but since the dream didn’t materialized, we are happy that we have finished the season with a trophy.
"We were to win with a big margin but we missed several chances in the first half, but in the second half, we corrected our mistakes, improved our attack, and got the result. I want to thank the organizers and the sponsors for making this possible,” noted Vijago.
His counterpart Boniface Nyamunyamuh was disappointed with the results but promised to bounce back strong next season in both league and cup.
“It’s sad that we have finished the season trophy less. We had banked to the FKF Women’s cup but we have to accept the results. We are now going to the drawing board and prepare for the new season which kicks off in August. I have seen that we need to improve the squad by signing few talented players something we will work on. Despite losing in the final, I congratulate the girls.”
Kibera’s Faith Mboya was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), while Diana Cherono of Vihiga Queens claimed the Golden Boot.
Vihiga’s goalkeeper Vivian Khayati walked away with the Best Goalkeeper award.
