Vihiga Queens ready for Zetech Sparks trip
Vihiga Queens will look to stretch their advantage at the top
of the Kenyan Women Premier League (KWPL) standings when they visit Zetech
Sparks on Sunday.
Vihiga lead the pack on goal difference as they are joint on 28
points with Gaspo after 13 rounds, while strugglers Zetech have collected just
13 points to leave them 10th.
Vihiga Queens head coach Boniface Nyamunyamuh told Citizen
Digital they are well prepared for their opponents as he urged his charges to
stay focused.
“We are very much prepared for Zetech. At one point they were
among the top teams in the league and that shows the threat they can pose.
"They're a good team with talented players but we are
the ‘Legacy Makers’ and we will ensure we harvest the maximum points when we
meet them at GEMS Cambridge in Kajiado," Nyamunyamuh said.
The tactician reiterated their target of winning the league
this season which would in turn help them secure qualification for the CAF
Women's Champions League.
Elsewhere at the Camp Toyoyo, Kayole Starlets will take on
Gaspo Women as Kangemi Ladies lock horns against Nakuru City Queens at GEMS
Cambridge on Saturday.
Former Champions Thika Queens will square it out against
Kisumu All Starlets at Thika Stadium with Ulinzi Starlets entertaining Bunyore
Starlets at Ulinzi Sports Complex.
Thika Queens, Ulinzi Starlets and Nakuru City Queens complete
the top five positions on the log with 25, 25 and 24 points respectively.
