Vihiga Queens plotting revenge against Ulinzi in season opener
Vihiga Queens Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) Michael Senelwa is confident that the legacy makers will retain their
Kenyan Women Premier League (KWPL) title, as the new season kick offs on Sunday,
October 7, 2023.
The four-time champions went down 2-0
against Ulinzi Starlets in Football Kenya Federation Women's Super-Cup on
Sunday and they are aiming to overturn the loss when both sides lock horns in
the KWPL new season opener at Moi Stadium Kisumu.
Senelwa has urged his charges to be more
focused ahead of the match, adding that the management has given them the support
they need.
“We have had great preparations for the
new season and I believe the players are ready for it. We went down against
Ulinzi on Sunday but that is football. You win, lose or pull a draw.
“We have signed few new players to boost
our squad and by the course of the week, we will unveil them officially.”
The new season kicks off officially on
Saturday with a match pitting debutants Bungoma Queens and Kibera Soccer Ladies
at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma.
On Sunday, Gaspo Women who were first
runners up last season will kick off the season against Bunyore Starlets at
Stima Members Club, while Trans Nzoia Falcons will take on Zetech Sparks at
