Popular radio host Joseph Ogidi, better known as Gidi Gidi has officially joined the race for positions at Gor Mahia FC in the elections set for this coming Sunday (13th April, 2025).

Gidi, who will be vying for the post against the incumbent Samuel Ocholla and Nick Arum, has been an active fan of club for many years and wants to manage Gor Mahia’s administrative, organisational and logistical functions.

“I am honored to present my candidacy for the role of Secretary General of our beloved club. As a lifelong supporter and active contributor to our football community,” Gidi said as he declared his candidature.

“As a lifelong Gor Mahia supporter and active contributor to our football community, I bring not only a deep passion for the game but also a commitment to transparent, efficient and inclusive leadership,” he added.

The Master of Business Administration graduate from Strathmore University wants to transform Gor Mahia to a club that thrives both on and off the pitch.

“I will streamline club operations to improve responsiveness, documentation and communication between members, players and management.”

To ensure a continuous flow of talent to team, Gidi is eyeing the development of youth at the grassroots level from every corner of the country. His office, he says, will support programs that nurture young talent and foster long-term success for the club.

Gidi believes Gor Mahia can benefit from its strong support base through membership engagement. “ I want to create platforms for all voices to be heard — because every member deserves a say in the club’s future.”

On the pride, rich tradition and progress for the club, Gidi says: “I want to honour our club's proud history while embracing innovative ideas to elevate our standing in the football world.”
