Ulinzi Warriors men basketball team head coach Bernard Mufutu is in high spirits ahead of their weekend match against Eldonets Platinum.
The soldiers will be away in Eldoret at Uasin Gishu grounds to face the home side in the Kenya National Men's Basketball Premier League on Saturday.
“Preparations have been good, no major injuries which is always a concern to most of the coaches. Our players who had been suspended are back which gives the team a good feeling and all the players are upbeat and ready for the game,” said Mufutu.
At the same time, the soft spoken tactician has acknowledged that as a team they still have areas to work on.
“As a team we are working on areas we feel we are weak just to make sure that we play we’ll in the upcoming games and to make sure we finish in a good spot in the first leg of the season and at the same time as we prepare for the second leg,” he added.
Ulinzi have so far played eight matches, winning four and losing a similar number and so far have 12 points.
Elsewhere, Umoja head coach Isaac Munyoki is optimistic of winning their weekend match against newcomers in the league NBK Phoenix.
“We are keeping our routine, NBK is also in the premier league on merit and we are preparing for them,” he said.
Umoja have 14 points from nine matches played, winning five and losing four while NBK have won two matches from the seven matches played.
