Ulinzi Sports Complex to host Starlets’ 2026 WAFCON qualifier against Tunisia

Ulinzi Sports Complex will be the venue for Harambee Starlets’ 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier home match against Tunisia on Friday, February 21, 2025.

The second leg will be played away in Tunis, Tunisia, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

Head coach Beldine Odemba outlined the team’s approach for the home fixture, emphasizing the need for an attacking display:

“Tunisia is a strong side, but we are ready for the challenge ahead. In our home match, we need to score and press forward aggressively to secure a positive result.”

She also highlighted her decision to integrate youth players into the squad:

“The youth are the future of football. Bringing them into the senior team helps build a conveyor belt of talent. A great example is former Junior Starlets captain Elizabeth Ochaka, who has already played at the highest level, the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, leading her team to Kenya’s first-ever FIFA World Cup appearance.”

Currently, 26 players have reported to camp, with the remaining 10 international players set to join as soon as the FIFA international window opens.

Harambee Starlets will be looking to capitalize on home advantage as they aim to take a strong lead in Tunisia's return leg.
