Ulinzi fired up for Police Bullets Cup test, says Otieno
Ulinzi Starlets interim coach Wycliffe Otieno is brimming with
confidence as his team gears up for the FKF Women’s Cup semi final showdown
with Kenya Police Bullets on Saturday.
Although holders Ulinzi have been outsmarted by Police in the
Kenyan Women Premier League, Otieno says it will be a different scenario in the
FKF Cup.
While Police Bullets are top of the KWPL table with 43 points
from 17 matches, Ulinzi are third with 29, although they have a match in hand.
The coach's confidence stems from the team's impressive
performance throughout the tournament and their determination to reclaim the
championship.
“We equal to the task, that is why we are here. We have a lot of
players who know what to do and the time to execute that in this competition.
We really want to retain the cup again. The Premier League is almost gone but then
the Cup is what we have at hand,” the coach firmly said.
“The last time we made a lot of mistakes in our defence and
conceded an early goal, which made us a little bit uncomfortable and my players
panicked. We’ve been working through the ranks from defence, midfield through
to the striking and I can confidently say we are way better off.”
The FKF Women’s Cup semi finals will take place at the Dandora Stadium where Kibera Soccer Ladies will take on Zetech Sparks in the second clash.
