Twinkle hockey club announce departure of CEO Mwangi

Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) Super League Women’s side Twinkle has announced the departure of former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Simon Mwangi who concluded his tenure with the side on December 31, 2023.
In a memo seen by Citizen Digital dated December 30, 2023, and signed by the President of Twinkle Hockey club Desmond Boi, Simon has decided to embark on a new chapter in his career - exploring fresh opportunities and challenges beyond his role at Twinkle Hockey Club.
During his time as CEO, Simon Mwangi made a significant impact on Twinkle Hockey Club, guiding the organization to achieve unprecedented growth and success. Under his leadership, the club experienced remarkable advancements on various fronts, culminating in a period of unprecedented achievements both on and off the field.
“I am writing to inform you of a significant development within our club. After thoughtful consideration, and having accepted a new job opportunity that will require significant travel and immense responsibility, Simon Mwangi, our esteemed Chief Executive Officer, has submitted his resignation effective 31st December 2023. We want to officially communicate this decision to the entire Twinkle family,” read part of the statement.
“The process of selecting a new CEO is currently underway, and Twinkle Hockey Club is committed to finding a candidate who will continue to drive the club's mission forward and uphold its core values. The board will provide further updates as the selection process progresses.”
Twinkles lie second on the women’s Super League standings with 39 points, 13 adrift of leaders Sliders having played 20 matches.
