Tusker FC tactician Okere reflects on missed opportunities

Tusker FC tatician Charles Okere[L] instructs his player
Tusker FC head coach Charles Okere says his team deeply felt the absence of striker Ryan Ogam in their goalless draw against Bandari FC on Sunday.
The match, played at the Mbaraki Stadium, Mombasa,
ended in a barren stalemate, and Okere believes lack of Ogam’s presence played
a crucial role in the result.
In a
conversation with Citizen Digital on
Monda, Okere reinforced the importance of Ogam to the squad.
The striker
is currently in the treatment room, the injury halting what until then had been
an exceptional season
"Every
player at Tusker FC is crucial, but Ogam, who has scored 15 goals this season,
was especially missed due to his injury. However, our young talent, David
Polepole, stepped up impressively, and with time, we’ll see him develop into an
even better player."
Looking
ahead, Okere urged his players to stay focused and committed to their pursuit
of the Kenya Premier League (KPL) title this season. He stressed the importance
of maintaining concentration and consistency as they continue to fight for the
top spot.
"Prior
to the match, I emphasized to my players the significance of securing three
points. However, as we’re in the second half of the season, every team is
pushing for a strong finish. We’ll now return to the drawing board and prepare
for our next match to get back on track with our victories," Coach Okere
stated.
The
Brewers have gone winless in their last five matches, settling for five draws
and scoring just once, against Shabana last week, in a midweek fixture, at Kenyatta
Stadium in Machakos.
Currently,
Tusker FC hold second place in the KPL standings with 41 points after 23
matches, and remain firmly in the hunt for the league crown.
