Trailblazers head coach Moses Epoloto believes his team is gradually improving and becoming more prepared to face tougher opponents in the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) Men’s National League.
Speaking
to Citizen Digital, Epoloto, a former national team coach, emphasized the
importance of psychological preparation and self-belief among his players.
"The
game was tough, but we took advantage because we started against a second-tier
team. We were cautious, and when they brought in the top-tier team, it became
easier for us. We still have some tough matches ahead, including a difficult
one against KAPU, but we are taking one game at a time. Our focus is on
preparing the players mentally and ensuring they believe in themselves,"
said Epoloto.
Trailblazers
secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory against Equity Bank in a thrilling five-set
encounter played at Nyayo Gymnasium on Friday as the KVF league entered its
second day.
After a
strong start, Trailblazers faced stiff resistance in the third set but quickly
regained control to clinch victory in a decisive final set. The match ended
with set scores of 25-27, 25-15, 14-25, 25-17 and 15-8 in favour of
Trailblazers.
However,
on Thursday, Trailblazers suffered a straight-set defeat to General Service Unit
(GSU), losing 3-0 with set scores of 22-25, 23-25, and 19-25.
With
these results, Trailblazers now have 19 points from six wins and five losses
after 11 matches in the league.
Meanwhile, Equity Bank suffered their first defeat in the fourth leg of the competition. They had started strongly on Thursday, securing a 3-0 victory over Nairobi Prisons with set scores of 25-21, 25-16, and 25-15.
Despite the loss to Trailblazers, Equity now stands at 22 points on the league table.
The KVF
Men’s National League continues, with teams battling for crucial points in the
highly competitive season.
