Thika Queens are looking to massively recruit new players in readiness for next season after yet another fruitless campaign in the Kenya Women Premier League (KWPL), where they finished fifth.

Team Manager Glenstone Muganga has revealed they have already scouted for potential players to bring on board after taking stock of the just concluded season.

Muganga says they are clear on the areas they need to boost, and are keen to begin the process early into the preseason.

“We have already identified the areas we failed in last season and we have also scouted for good players who can fill in the positions appropriately. We must recruit in readiness for next season and we are hoping that the players we bring on board will settle in well before the season kickoff,” said Muganga.

Muganga also believes next season will be better under coach Benta Achieng from the onset, having rejoined the club midway last season.

Muganga says her impact on the girls has been significant in since her return.

“Next season will be different because Benta will be fully in charge; she has a way getting the best out the players that is different with the other coaches we have worked with.

“Players get to open up and talk while she is around which is why we get to win games and we are looking for more of that next season,” added Muganga, heaping praise to the former Thika player.
