Talanta seek to end woeful home form in NSL
Talanta FC could joint top of the National Super League (NSL) standings with a win against Coast Stima in Friday’s fixture at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds in Nairobi.
Coach Abdallah Juma’s men eked out their first win of their season over the weekend when they saw off Green Commandoes 3-0 at the Bukhungu Stadium and will be looking to enhance their title chances with a second successive win.
“We want to be in the best position as far as the league rankings is concerned and to do that we have to be consistent.
“We haven’t won any game at home so we want to make sure we bag all the three points today. There are injury worries and all the players are focused for the match,” Juma said.
Two other NSL fixtures will be played on Friday across the country, with Nairobi Stima and Kisumu All Stars facing off at the Karuturi Grounds. KCB FC versus Isibania FC will also be played in Camp Toyoyo.
Western Stima, who were relegated from the KPL last season, lead the NSL charts on seven points – level with Kibera Black Stars although they have a slightly superior goal difference advantage.
They will tackle Kangemi All Stars at Kisumu’s Moi Stadium as Kibera travel to Administration Police on Satursday.
