Strathmore Blades eye double wins in KNBL this weekend

The students will be facing Equity Dumas on Saturday before meeting fellow varsity side Africa Nazarene University (ANU) Wolfpacks on Sunday at the Nyayo Gymnasium, Nairobi.

Blades, who have shown dismissal performance this season unlike before, are currently second last on the log with 18 points after playing 13 matches, winning five and losing eight.

ANU Wolfpacks are eighth on the log with 22 points after playing 16 matches, winning six and losing ten.

“We have had a very long break but nevertheless the boys are psyched up and ready to get double wins over the weekend and we are well prepared.

“Playing a side like Equity which is very experienced is not easy. We know how they play. We have been watching their games and my squad is well oiled,” said Ochieng.

Against their varsity derby, Ochieng believes it will not be a walk in the park and that they need to be cautious if they are to pick maximum points.

“ANU are very fast, their transition is very quick. My team has to contain them, we have to play as a team and grind well.

“The team is in very great shape, back to back wins will be a very big morale booster, we are looking for a positive weekend as we wait to cement our top five positions in the regular season,” he added.
