The official launch of the highly anticipated Fivestarz Champions League 2025 was held on  Saturday at Forest Breeze Gardens, Nairobi.

This marked the beginning of an exciting grassroots football journey that will run from June 30 to July 27, 2025.

The event brought together team captains and coaches from all 32 registered teams drawn from Nairobi’s East and West regions.

Also present were sponsor representatives from Sahara Credit & Loans, MagicReel Pictures, and 33 Beats KE, who expressed their support for community-based football initiatives.

The launch was graced by Bernard Omondi, Chairman of FKF Nairobi West Branch, whose presence reaffirmed FKF’s commitment to grassroots football development and nurturing local talent.

Hosted by the Board of Directors of Fivestarz Ventures, the tournament organizers, the launch emphasised the tournament's mission: to provide a structured, competitive, and inclusive platform for emerging footballers, many of whom are drawn from underrepresented and underserved communities.

A key moment of the event was the live digital draw, which was projected on large screens. The draw process, designed for fairness and transparency, determined first-round matchups for all participating teams in a manner that inspired trust and excitement among attendees.

The Fivestarz Champions League will be played in a home-and-away knockout format, with first leg matches hosted in Nairobi West and return leg matches in Nairobi East.

The proposed venues include Jamhuri Sports Ground (Ngong Road) and Camp Toyoyo (Maringo).
