Simba FC quits Vihiga women championships after players exodus

Simba Football Club has been forced to withdraw from the FKF Vihiga branch women's league after ten players ditched the club ahead of their clash against Kamanga Ladies at Ekwanda last weekend.

Simba team manager Barnabas Indeche says the club was yet to tie them down to contracts after registering them with FKF to participate in the first-ever Vihiga women league making thus it easy for players to retreat to their village teams that are now playing in politicians'-sponsored end year tournaments.

Michael Senelwa Vihiga branch secretary has confirmed the development saying that Simba FC requested to withdraw from the league

The league fixtures will be revised as a result.

"This then means that all second leg fixtures involving Simba Queens will be removed and the table standing adjusted for round eight and round nine fixtures following the removal of Simba Queens matches," Senelwa revealed.

Vihiga branch league chairman Kelvin Mwangu urged clubs to establish fundamental structures like administration, bank accounts, and contracts that will enable them to develop.
