Shanderema claw Kirangari, Dagoretti stun St. Anthony

Shanderema's forward Nixon Mutimi dribbles past Kirangari's Edward Ndichu during their match at Bukhungu Stadium on Wednesday.

Maxwell Wamalwa was on target again as Shanderema floored Kirangari 3-0 today at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega to book a slot in the semi-finals.

Shanderema sailed through thanks to Francis Kalongo, Kelly Madada and Maxwell's Wamalwa's goals.

The Eagles finished top of group A on seven points with a superior goal difference against rivals Agoro Sare.

Shanderema head coach's Kevin Asuba was full of praise of his charges for their impressive shift.

"We are happy for the win. Getting to the semi-finals on our maiden appearance is an achievement for us."

"We will handle St. Anthony like any other opponent and we will be going for a win," said Asuba.

At Kakamega High School grounds, Nairobi region soccer powerhouse Dagoretti high stunned five times National Champions St. Anthony 1-0 to top group B.

Head coach Joseph Makokha was awed by his side's scintillating performance noting that they were going all out for the title.

"I want to thank my boys for their impressive performance today. We defended well especially in the second half and won the three important points."

"We will also approach Agoro Sare with great caution and fight for a win," noted Makokha.

At the same venue, Agoro Sare humiliated North Eastern's Khorof Harar 8-0 but the goals were not enough to help them finish ahead of Shanderema in Pool A.

The Nyanza region champions who are making their debut on the national scene will have a date with Dagoretti High at Kakamega High School grounds on tomorrow.
