Shabana started the match brightly and took the game to their visitors in the opening 15 minutes. Their best chance came in the 16th minute when Oduor’s strike was desperately cleared off the line.
Kariobangi Sharks, however, defended resolutely in the early stages as they sought to create more distance between themselves and the relegation zone.
Clear-cut chances were few and far between thereafter, with both sides adopting a cautious approach for the remainder of the first half.
Shabana began the second half with renewed urgency, knowing a positive result would move them level on points with AFC Leopards in second place.
Their intent paid off just five minutes after the restart when Brian Michira struck in the 50th minute to give the hosts a 1–0 lead.
The home side went on to control much of the game, limiting Kariobangi Sharks’ chances as they looked set to secure a narrow victory.
However, the visitors were not ready to back down. Razel Omondi drew them level in the 79th minute, setting up a tense finish to the match.
Just four minutes later, Markvivan Kesa completed the turnaround with a well-taken goal that stunned the hosts.
Despite Shabana’s late attempts to salvage a draw, Kariobangi Sharks held firm to secure a 2–1 victory.
