Remesha of Burundi floor poor Equity in East Africa Basketball Championship

Equity Bank men's team again Remesha of Burundi at the East Africa Basketball Championship at Nyayo Gymnasium.

Equity men’s team poor run at the East Africa Basketball Championship Cup continued on Saturday after they suffered 106-64 defeat against Remesha of Burundi in a match played at Nyayo Basketball Court.

Napoleon Abiikunze scored the most points in the match (22) to help Remesha secure the win.

"We had a sloppy start in the tournament, but I am happy for the team right now, they are getting to shape," Remesha head coach Robert Oyugi, said after the match.

''The tournament is experiencing stiff competition, but it is important for the players when they return to the league competition," Oyugi added.

"We have a big team in general but some of our players could not make it today, we played a good game but the scores can't say it," Equity team captain Davis Siaji said after the match.

"We have a match tomorrow [Sunday], and I think it's important we shift our focus on the next assignment," Siaji added.

Remesha will now shift their focus on their last match of the tournament on Sunday when they face KPA.  Equity will face A.B.C of Tanzania while Dar City of Tanzania will face Hippos of Burundi in the last day of the tournament.
