Red-hot Bandari confident of Gor scalp in mid-week FKF-PL clash
FKF-Premier League side Bandari are confident of securing a
win against defending champions Gor Mahia in their mid-week fixture this
Wednesday.
The much-anticipated clash is scheduled to take place at
Ukunda Showground, Kwale County, since Bandari fc home field, Mbaraki Stadium,
is still under renovation.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, Bandari FC Chief Executive
Officer Tony Kibwana outlined their quest for a win against the KPL defending
champions.
"We are not afraid to face God; it's a team we have won
against before. I know they are afraid to play against us, considering their
last two league matches against Murang'a Seal and Nairobi City Stars, where
they failed to win".
Bandari have been training without their head coach Ken
Odhiambo, Goalkeeper trainer Jeremy Onyango, goalkeeper Bryne Omondi, defender
Siraj Mohamed, and midfielder Fidel Origa, who were with Harambee Stars team
that was held to a 1-1 draw against South Sudan last weekend in a CHAN
qualification match.
CEO Kibwana said they have trained well for Kogalo and are
ready to fight for maximum points.
"Our boyz are ready, and since some were away for a
National duty together with our head coach Ken, Coach Baraza has been up to the
task of preparing our team"
Last Season, Bandari FC won 1-0 at Mbaraki Sports Ground
before falling by the same margin in Nairobi.
"The Dockers" are unbeaten so far this season,
winning 2 matches and held in other 3 outings.
Last year, Gor Mahia played at Ukunda Showground and were
eliminated in the league cup by little-known local Club Denmark FC by falling
5-4 on match post penalties after a barren draw.
