Currently the FKF Women's Premier League's top scorer, Khaemba has vowed to work even harder to earn more call-ups in the future. Khaemba will join the star-studded provisional squad called to camp by Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba on Monday.
"I am excited to earn my place in the provisional squad of Harambee Starlets. This motivates me to work even harder and help the team at all costs, be it scoring goals or providing assists," Khaemba told Citizen Digital.
On his part, Khaemba’s coach, Godfrey Mabonga, has expressed gratitude to national team coach Beldine Odemba for selecting her. He hopes that, in the future, more Bungoma Queens players will make it to the national team.
"I am happy that coach Odemba saw the potential in Bungoma Queens. Giving Catherine Khaemba a chance to represent the country on such a big stage motivates the rest of our girls to work even harder and reach the top level," Mabonga noted.
The Harambee Starlets will kick off their campaign for the Africa Cup of Nations against Tunisia on February 21, 2025 in Nairobi with the second leg scheduled four days later in Tunisia.
