Police smash three past Bandari to go top of FKF-PL

Police FC provided three devastating blows to Bandari as they climbed to the top of the FKF Premier League with a dominant 3-0 victory at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

The law enforcers began proceedings in second place in need of any kind of a win to move up into the summit of the league thanks to their superior goal difference.

Forward Marvin Nabwire and Clinton Kinange were on hand to provide the basis to ensure they had dislodged Tusker FC from the top spot by halftime in the lunch time clash.

Nabwire struck the opening goal in the tenth minute, firing home from close range before Kinange doubled the lead in the 20th minute.

Seasoned striker Jesse Were completed the rout after he found the back of the net in the 85th minute with a decisive finish.

The win saw Police FC top the league charts level on points (33) with Tusker FC but the law enforcers are clear with a five-point goal difference.

They also extended their winning streak to eight games, and they have now registered eight wins and a draw, losing only one of the ten games head coach Etienne Ndayiragije has overseen.

On the flipside, the defeat saw Bandari’s poor run continue as they failed to win seven consecutive matches.

The Coastal-based side also lost further ground to drop out of the chasing pack to seventh in the league standings on 23 points.
