Police FC favourites for FKF Cup, Ambani claims

FKF Cup champions Kenya Police remain favourites to retain the title this term after cruising through to Round 32, former AFC Leopards striker Boniface Ambani has claimed.
New
signings Mohamed Bajaber scored a brace while Irishura David added a goal to
hand the law enforcers a cherished 3-0 victory at the expense of FKF Divison Two
side, Superior Hotels FC.
And for
Ambani, the FKF-PL leaders are capable of going all the way.
“So long
as they qualify to the next round then that means a lot, as far as being in quest
of retaining their title.
They are
the current title holders and that tells you that they will be thirsty to go
for it again this season… I am definitely sure they will challenge for this
title with all they have in store,” explained Ambani.
The former
Yanga ace said the best team in terms of preparations will always have its day
and represent the country in the CAF Confederations, tipping Police as ‘well-placed’.
“As I
said, this is normally the shortest way to continental and one must prepare
very well.
“There
are only four matches ahead and when you find yourself in the final and win
then it’s as simple as that- you are in the CAF Confederations Cup.”
“The
winner getting that continental representation means a lot and it is a catalyst
to why teams will give their all to try and win this trophy which is not as complicated
as KPL”, Ambani said.
AFC
Leopards, Tusker, Gor Mahia, Bandari and Kakamega Homeboyz are among the top
flight teams that have moved to the next round after winning their round of 64
matches.
Police
are two points ahead of their closest rivals Tusker FC in the KPL title race
after round of 22 matches, with only 12 remaining this season.
