Police FC team manager George Maelo says the club management is satisfied with the team’s performance in the just concluded Football Kenya Federation Premier League.

The team improved from ninth in their debut season last year to finish third in the league standings, seven points behind champions Gor Mahia FC.

Maelo also reserved special praise for head coach Francis Baraza and his technical bench, saying they fostered team unity since taking over from Sammy Omollo and Musa Otieno during the mid-season.

“He has done a great job and lost just two matches since taking over from the previous coach. We will support him fully now that he will have the opportunity to be with the team for the pre-season,” Maelo said.

The club leading marksman Elvis Rupia scored 27 goals in the league to break the all-time league record for most goals in a season that was set by Boniface Ambani (26) in 2006.

“Rupia is patient, works hard and he is down to earth and that has made him break the record. He has a good working relationship with the rest of the team he has great player surrounding him more will come from him.”
