“It was a very tough match considering that Kisumu are facing relegation and were avoiding to overcome it.
“Mathematically, if we manage to win the two remaining matches and hope our opponents lose, then we can win the league. I’m urging my players to continue pushing hard to ensure we restore our lost glory. A gap between 42 points and 37 is not that huge and if the leaders lose any of the remaining matches then it will be a plus for us.”
Meanwhile, Bunyore Starlets are mathematically relegated after a 3-2 defeat to Zetech Sparks at Mumboha Grounds in Luanda, Vihiga County.
Even if they win their final two matches, Starlets, who have been in the top flight league for three seasons, will not escape the chop as they trail fellow relegation candidates Mombasa Olympic by five points.
Mombasa Olympic will be forced to win their remaining matches and hope Kisumu Starlets, who are currently ninth, drop points to survive but any other outcome will see them compete in the relegation playoff.
