Police begin title defence against Kisped, Vihiga to face Ulinzi
Kenya Police Bullets Executive Chairman Munga Nyale believes
they have all what it takes to defend their Kenya Women Premier League (FKF-
WPL) title, with the 2024/2025 season set to kick off on Saturday.
Police Bullets made history last season as debutants, ending
Vihiga Queens dominance by clinching the title after amassing 49 points.
As the season kicks off, the law enforcers will lock
horns with Kisped Queens at the Police Sacco from 3:00pm, a match Munga
believes they will win to start defense on a positive note.
“We understand it will be a tough match but I believe the
proper training my girls have had under their coach Beldine Odemba will work to
our advantage. We have no doubt that the girls will defend their title this
season as we are aiming to play again in Cecafa Club Championship as it was
last season and qualify for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
"We have some work to do to get the men's team
(Kenya Police FC) where we want, but for the girls we are confident enough all
will be well. I wish them all the best ahead of the season. We have their full
support o there is no excuse of not performing well.”
Elsewhere four times champions Vihiga Queens will kick
off the season against Ulinzi Starlets at Moi Stadium in Kisumu, a match which
coach Boniface Nyamuhnyamuh believes they will win.
“We must capitalise on home advantage and register a win.
A win in the first match of the season will motivate our players as embark on journey to reclaim the title from Police. This is very much possible if we keep the focus. This is very much possible if we keep the focus," said Nyamuh.
Joseph Oyoo-coached Mombasa Olympics will host Wadadia at Ronald Ngala Primary as Trinity Starlets will squire it out with Bungoma Queens at the ASK Showground in Nakuru.
