Omalla at the double as Gor sink Bandari

Gor Mahia continued their charge for the FKF Premier League title after edging out Bandari FC 2-1 at the Mbaraki Stadium in Mombasa.

After a barren first half, the game came alive after the restart

On-form striker Benson Omala brace gave Kogalo three away important points while Andrew Juma gave host consolation goal.

The home side Bandari fc started the match pretty well with Abdallah Hassan, William Wadri and striker Umar Kasumba failing to capitalize chances they got.

Kogalo came close in 22nd minute when Sydney Wahongo header went above the cross bar.

Bandari fc striker Umar Kasumba 30 yards shot at half an hour mark was comfortably saved by Gor keeper Gad Mathews but follow up by Abdallah Hassan was flagged offside by the lineman.

The home side almost opened the score sheet on 38th minute when Joseph Waithira shot was deflected off the crossbar and calmly collected by Mathews.

The visitors almost snatched a top of first half goal but KPL top scorer Benson Omala shot was saved for a corner by Bandari fc goalkeeper Michael Wanyika.

Gor Mahia made a instant change at the start of second half introducing Alpha Onyango for Sydney Wahongo.

It took only two minutes into second half for Gor Mahia to get their first goal after Benson Omala connected a well taken Austin Odhiambo free kick.

In 63rd minute Benson Omala got his second after heading home a similar free kick but this time taken by Dennis Njire.

Four minutes later, Bandari fc defender Andrew Juma headed Hassan Abdallah Conner to give Bandari their consolation goal
