Olaniyi glad to be back among the goals and enjoying life at Leopards
After a frustrating start to life at AFC Leopards,
Fasanmi Ojo Olaniyi is finally showing the potential that earned him a move to
the FKF Premier League giants last December.
The Nigerian has scored three goals in his last two
matches after blanking during the previous seven, with that form providing a welcome
boost for Leopards.
The forward told Citizen Digital he believes there is
more to come from him after helping Leopards to back-to-back victories over
Mathare United.
“I pray to God to help me keep moving forward with his
form and to keep scoring goals to help the team because I have been working so
hard.
“The hard work continues because as a striker, your job
is to score goals. No matter what you do on the field but people are looking upon
you to score goals,” Olaniyi said.
Since moving to Leopards from Kakamega Homeboyz in a deadline
day deal, the former Soy United player admits he is finally enjoying life at
his new home.
“I feel great and I really appreciate my coaches, the
technical bench and my team mates who really encourage me. They never
discourage me and I think this is my 12th game I play for the club and I just
have two goals,” he said.
Olaniyi thanked the Ingwe faithful and pledged to
capture their imaginations on the pitch.
“Very good fans who never want to see the team lose
matches and they want to see us winning every game and that is a great
motivation to me as a striker. When they come to watch us we should always work
hard to give something to them in return.”
Leopards have a testing outing against KCB FC in their
next league fixture.
