Odongo can become a global star, says Injera
Kenya Rugby legend
Collins Injera has backed rugby sensation Patrick Odongo to keep shining in the
World Sevens Series, after an impressive start this season.
Odongo played a key
part as Shujaa finished 10th and 8th respectively in Dubai and Cape Town
legs, and Injera says he was impressed by his performance.
While Injera appreciates
it takes a lot of commitment and discipline to rise and sty at the top, he
acknowledged Odongo can.
“He is
a very talented player terms of speed conversion I find him an all round player
who if he continues to put in the hard work that is needed then he has a great
future ahead of him and the team," said Injera.
Shujaa were making
their return in the series after being relegated last season and Injera says
the Kevin Wambua-led project is heading in the right direction.
“The
really put in a good show on their return in the two legs that they have played
I was impressed by the team spirit and the hard work that I saw it was good
start for their return,”added Injera
The series will
resume next month in Australia during the Perth Sevens between the
24th and 26th, where Injera expects a better show.
“They
have had taste of what to expect in the next leg so expect to see more great
performances and results," stated the rugby legend.
