Kenya Rugby legend Collins Injera has backed rugby sensation Patrick Odongo to keep shining in the World Sevens Series, after an impressive start this season.

Odongo played a key part as Shujaa finished 10th and 8th respectively in Dubai and Cape Town legs, and Injera says he was impressed by his performance.

While Injera appreciates it takes a lot of commitment and discipline to rise and sty at the top, he acknowledged Odongo can.

“He is a very talented player terms of speed conversion I find him an all round player who if he continues to put in the hard work that is needed then he has a great future ahead of him and the team," said  Injera.

Shujaa were making their return in the series after being relegated last season and Injera says the Kevin Wambua-led project is heading in the right direction.

“The really put in a good show on their return in the two legs that they have played I was impressed by the team spirit and the hard work that I saw it was good start for their return,”added Injera

The series will resume next month in Australia during the Perth Sevens between the 24th and 26th, where Injera expects a better show.

“They have had taste of what to expect in the next leg so expect to see more great performances and results," stated the rugby legend.
