Nzoia Sugar FC head coach Charles Odero has voiced his disappointment following a 1-1 draw against Kisumu All-Stars in their latest National Super League (NSL) fixture over the weekend.

Odero, whose team is battling to avoid relegation, believes Nzoia Sugar deserved more from the match but was ultimately undone by what he described as "bad luck."

Speaking to Citizen Digital after the game, Odero said his side dominated proceedings but failed to convert their chances, costing them crucial points.

“We played well and created numerous opportunities. Unfortunately, luck was not on our side, and we couldn’t secure the win,” he remarked.

Despite the draw, Odero remains optimistic, vowing to address the team’s shortcomings.

“We will go back to the drawing board, analyze what went wrong, and work to correct our mistakes. I have full faith in the boys, and I’m confident we’ll start winning matches soon,” he assured.

The result leaves Nzoia Sugar entrenched in the lower half of the NSL table, raising concerns over their survival as the season reaches a crucial stage.

Odero underscored the need for a strong finish to the year, urging his team to turn possession dominance into victories.

With promotion back to the FKF Premier League next season still a distant goal, Odero must inspire a turnaround in the upcoming matches.
