Zetech Sparks head coach Maurice Obilo has praised his team following a dominant weekend double in the Kenya Women’s Basketball Premier League, despite the training challenges they faced last week due to the ongoing rains in Nairobi.

The students outclassed fellow varsity side Nairobi’s Dynamites 74-56 on Saturday, before cruising past league debutants, The Swish, with a commanding 65-24 win on Sunday at Nyayo Gymnasium to maintain a good run.

“The girls played very well both games on Saturday and Sunday. We had a problem training last week because of the on-going rains; we only trained once on Thursday. The other days we could train for 30 minutes then get interrupted by the rains. With that kind of shaky training I believe my girls did very well in both games as they won them very comfortably,” Obilo said.

At the same time, the soft-spoken tactician is now keen to build on the momentum ahead of their next opponents.

“We just build from there moving into the next games, but otherwise we had great performance over the weekend from all the players that participated in the two games and as we always say, we play one game at a time,” Obilo added.
