Zetech Sparks head coach Maurice Obilo believes his charges did not give their best in their Kenya National Women’s Basketball League (KNBL) weekend matches, despite registering double victories..

The students defeated newcomers in the league, Stanbic Aces, 58-36 on Saturday before hammering fellow varsity side University of Nairobi’s Dynamites 50-38 on Sunday at the Nyayo Gymnasium.

We did not play up to our expectations because we struggled a lot in both games. I want to believe that again as we said we have a lot of young players who came from lower divisions, and we don’t have a lot of expectations from them,” noted Obilo.

We have also been out for long without playing games as some players were with the national team for assignments and it affected our playing. Hopefullythey will get better as we continue to play,” he added.

Zetech are so far unbeaten in their five games played, after defeating The Swish, Africa Nazarene University Panthers, Storms, Stanbic Aces and University of Nairobi Dynamites.

They currently have 10 points.

The students will be facing giants and defending champions Equity Hawks on Saturday before meeting fellow varsity side Strathmore Swords on Sunday at the Nyayo Gymnasium, Nairobi.
