Nzoia to unveil new coach after Babu departure
Newly
appointed Nzoia Sugar chairman Yapets Mokua says they will unveil the new coach
to replace former head coach Salim Babu by weekend this week.
Mokua said
they received over twenty applications and the selection process is almost
complete.
“We received
over twenty applications and I must say the selection process is almost
complete, we are racing against time and probably by the weekend this week,”
Mokua told Citizen Digital.
Immediate
former Nzoia head coach Salim Babu left the team to take on a lesser role at
Kenya Police as an assistant coach to enable him undertake his CAF ‘B’ coaching
course.
Babu led
Nzoia Sugar to a fourth place finish in the recently concluded FKF-PL season.
Meanwhile,
Mokua's priority, alongside his newly-constituted executive committee, is to
address the pressing issue of financial instability that has seen the team lose
several players in the aftermath of the 2022/23 FKF Premier League season.
