Nzoia Sugar breeze past Bandari to keep survival hopes alive
Nzoia Sugar made their intentions to escape the relegation axe in the Football Kenya Federation league after a famous 4-1 victory over Bandari today in Nakuru.
Hillary Simiyu gave the home side Nzoia an early lead in the 11th minute before Kevin Wanyama and Okanda Felician scored in the 23rd and 28th minute.
The contest offered little in the opening stages as each side missed open chances until the 11th minute when Samuel Hillary Simiyu tapped in the ball into the net.
Kevin Wanyama and Okanda Felician followed suit in quick succession to put Nzoia in a good position to carry the day at the ASK show Grounds in Nakuru.
Johanna Mwita gave the visitors the lone goal in 46th minute but the goal had nothing to change in the game. Gaitan Masha had the final goal in stoppage to wrap it all for Nzoia side.
Coach Ibrahim Shikanda of Nzoia Sugar was elated with the win more-so after his boys utilized first-half chances.
Shikanda thanked his striking force for a spirited fight in the first 30 minutes of the game, hopeful that his charges would give out a similar battling performance against Sofapaka next week.
“My boys played well, we fought hard, and I am hoping we shall replicate the same against Sofapaka,” Shikanda said.
