Nzoia determined to keep prodigy Beja despite interest from rivals
The left-winger was in top form for the Bungoma-based Millers in the just concluded campaign, racking up goals and assists to help the Millers finish fourth in the league, their best ever performance since they got promoted back to the top tier league in 2017.
The spectacular form saw him named in the provisional Harambee Stars squad that played Iran in March, although he was dropped a few days later.
Sources close to the player intimated that four top teams in the premier league are after the player, AFC Leopards among them.
However, in an exclusive interview with Citizen Digital Nzoia Chairman Evans Kadenge has refuted the claims.
“We are yet to receive any formal bids for the player or any other player, these players have contracts with us and someone must pay before we release any player, these boys are still with us and we are hoping they will stay here,” Babu told Citizen Digital.
AFC Leopards has already raided Nzoia’s camp, having already reached an agreement with Boniface Munyendo who is set to sign for Ingwe next week.
Other Nzoia players who could be on the move away from the club are skipper Humphrey Katasi and midfielders Kevin Juma and Joseph Mwangi.
