Silibwet
Leons FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kajiado FC as they secured only
their first win of the season at the Ildamat Stadium in Kajiado Town on Saturday.
Jim Owili’s
strike on the stroke of half time was enough to lift the visitors over Kajiado who
were made to pay for failing to clear their lines.
Elsehwhere
across the league Mara Sugar edged Darajani Gogo 1-0 while Gusii FC drew 0-0 at
home to Naivas FC.
MCF FC fought
to secure a 1-1 draw against Vihiga United while Muranga Seal versus Mombasa
Elite ended in a similar scoreline.
Kajiado
coach Martin Mutembei backed his struggling side to find form ahead of Wednesday’s
clash against the league leaders Shabana FC at Gusii Stadium.
“My boys
tried their best but let me say several attempts did bear fruit for us. Now we
must focus on the next task against Shabana,” Mutembei said.
Silibwet interim
coach Eric Rono hailed his boys for the win despite missing a number of players
who are stilling recovering from a cholera outbreak that hit the camp a few
weeks ago.
Silibwet
will face Gusii FC in Kisii County in their next league match.
